On Thursday 24th June we present Spaghetti + Wine, featuring Italian wine producer La Visciola from Lazio. Watch the Full Moon rise over the Pacific Ocean in the Icebergs Bar from 6pm.
La Visciola wines have been farmed bio-dynamically since 2005 and are made from three small vineyards predominantly Cesanese del Piglio and a smattering of Passerina. The small holdings are run by the Macciocca family in a completely hands on family operation.
“Cesanese del Piglio is one of my favourite grapes. It walks the tight rope of power and elegance the way the great wines of Piedmont do. A high level of flavour concentration is balanced by a driving acid, soft tannin, spice and cherries. I last visited Visciola about four years ago and was struck by the variety of planting other than grapes in the vineyard. The vineyard is dotted with fruit trees of apricot, pear, cherries and apples amongst others. The family cultivates the entire property with the same passion that they cultivate their vines.
